Hog Deer

The
very rare Hog Deer is our smallest and also one of our toughest trophies to
take. They offer great hunting and a small and difficult target. During the
day this wary deer is found in thick cover where they are difficult to detect.
Hog deer, feral range hunting is limited to State of Victoria and all on public land. Open season is for the month of April only.
Most Hog deer hunted in Australia are in private hunting preservers and Mary River Australian Safaris own and manage the largest Hog Deer herds both in their Northern Territory and Southern Victorian properties. We can offer you the best chance of a Record Class Hog Deer in Australia.
Hunting is usually done in the morning and late afternoon quietly stalking and glassing, when the Hog Deer are leaving their thick cover to feed.
Pick up is from Darwin or Melbourne and usually we allow 2 - 3 days to abtain a good trophy. Because of our limited hunting and large numbers of Hog Deer success can be assured.
Book your Hog Deer hunt, in Combo with a Buffalo in the Northern Territory or a large Elk or Red Deer in Victoria.
