Australia's Hunting Mecca. The Northern Territory is a large area covering about 1/6th of Australia and it's coastline is 3,000 plus kilometers in length. It's huge flood plains and vast scenic rivers in the Top End swell and flood during each wet season. In the dry season, the upper reaches of many of these river systems form land locked fresh water Billabongs. Which in turn create a home for our Buffalo, Boar, Banteng and Fish.In the far north of the Territory, lying beside the world heritage listed Kakadu National Park, is the Mary River Station. The property is located 3 hours drive south of Darwin. It comprises 344,000 acres of Wilderness. The Ranch has the beautiful Mary River as a 90km border with Kakadu. The river is well know in the Territory for it's resident populations of Salt and Fresh Water Crocodiles as well as huge Barramundi. All our hunting is carried out on what is locally known as Mary River Station a well known ex cattle ranch that was the heart of the Buffalo Industry during the skin shooting days and today still hosts large numbers of free ranging wild populations of world class Buffalo, Bantang, Boar, Scrub Bulls, Dingo, Donkeys, Wild Horses and a host of other wild life.
Adjacent to our Hunting Lodge we have a 10,000 acre Game Ranch area .This facilitates the hunting of Samber Deer, Hog Deer, Javan and Nth. Island[Molacan] Rusa Deer,Axis Deer and Blackbuck Antelope, plus other Antelope varieties
Mary River Station is unique as it has the only private herd of Banteng in Australia and is one of only two destinations that Banteng may be legally hunted in the world. A very rare Trophy Mary River Australian Safaris specialize in arranging holiday packages to the Top End's great hunting and fishing hot spots. We can also arrange outback, scenic, wild life and lifestyle tours as part of your trip or for non-hunting visitors while you go hunting. Make your trip to the Territory "A Buffalo To Remember". It's the ultimate place to get away from it all, in what the Aboriginal people call "Never Never Land". IF YOU NEVER NEVER GO, YOU'LL NEVER NEVER KNOW! A little more about Kakadu Kakadu is unique as it contains almost the entire drainage system of the large South Alligator River. This provides visitors an opportunity to see most of the major environmental habitats existing in the Top End. These habitats range from Kakadu's coastal fringe, through its ubiquitous woodlands, the majesty of the Arnhem Land escarpment, wetlands, billabongs, waterfalls and rock pools, rainforest and stony hills of the Alligator River catchment area. Because of Kakadu's magnitude - 200 kilometres north-south and 100 kilometres east-west - it is advisable to set aside at least two to three days to learn the secrets contained in the Park's diverse geology, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. Visitors who take day trips to Kakadu generally return feeling exhausted and let down. A day trip, which includes up to six hours' travelling, allows visitors to see little of the Park. Hidden within Kakadu's sometimes arid-looking landscape are vast expanses of water. Kakadu contains some of the most significant tropical wetlands in the world. These wetlands are home to an amazing assortment of migratory birds including the magnificent jabirus and brolgas which were once widespread across Australia. It is estimated that up to one-third of the birdlife in Australia is represented in Kakadu. In our area you can v isit National Parks, see ancient aboriginal art and habitat sites, go bird watching, photograph some amazing creatures in their natural habitat, or just soak up the silence. You may prefer to hike through the ancient stone country, clamber up waterfalls, swim in crystal clear pools, catch a barramundi or chase a marlin, hunt for bush tucker and cook it in the campfire, or learn the dream-time stories of the aboriginal people. There are not many places left in the world that offer a magnificent, remote natural environment to wander and explore. Australia's Northern Territory is one such place. QUICK FACTS ABOUT THE NORTHERN TERRITORY: Click here for current time at Mary River Station in the Northern Territory |
